The Domaine des 7 Vallées represents the vision of a man, Alain O`Reilly, in his deep belief in the Eco Tourism Development of Mauritius together with the traditional Sea, Sand and Sun definition of the destination.
Alain O`Reilly is the father of Ecotourism in Mauritius since far back in 1987 when he opened a Domain in the South East.
In line with a world tendency towards the protection of the environment Alain O'Reilly decides, in 2006, to acquire 7 Valleys in the center of the island and to create the Domaine des 7 Vallées fourty times bigger.
et Alain & his team, all experienced hunters, bring you to a unique adrenaline pumping hunting adventure in the wilderness.
Due to the ideal all year round temperature of Mare aux Vacoas and its evergreen pasture, the best and most beautiful trophies are only found at the Domaine des 7 Vallées.
More than 2500 deers and wild boars live freely on over 4000 hectares of primitive forests.
Le Domaine des 7 Vallées hunting reserve is situated at Nouvelle France on the central plateau of Mauritius. More than 2500 deer and wild boars live freely on 4000 hectares of the forest. The Mauritian deer (Cervus Timorensis Russa) were introduced on the island in 1639 by the Dutch.
As for the wild boars, historians are not that sure, but they think that it was the Portuguese who at the beginning of the 16th century introduced the wild pigs.
Stalk hunting is one of the hunting methods the more commonly used, but we can also organize hunting in small mobile groups, posted on the “matadors” (Posts of observation).
The Domaine will supply you with the ammunition and the rifles (Tikka, Mannlicher, and Sako & Savage); all equipped with “Schmidt & Bender” telescopic sights. The hunters will be taken in charge by the experimented guides who will provide the necessary security elements and the smooth running of the hunt.
It is highly recommended to be equipped with good walking shoes and wear dark clothes (avoid wearing colorful clothes, especially white ones).
The animal killed remains the property of the Domaine, with the exception of the trophies, which will be the property of the hunters. We also propose taxidermy, freight and other services (phytosanitary permits etc…).
After the hunt, in respect of the hunters’ tradition, our cook will prepare the interior parts of the deer and then the party can carry on….
Archery Hunting
Learn the fine art of Archery and practice your skills under the watchful eye of our instructor. We offer excellent practice spots for the recreational or competitive archer. Archery is also a hunting technique at the Domaine des 7 Vallées.
Quad Biking
Add some adrenaline to your exploration with our quad bike rental (ATV) ! The Domaine des 7 Vallées is simply the best place in Mauritius to practice quad bike riding for leisure or sports. Our automatic quad bikes provide you with a worry free & safe adventure to ensure your enjoyment. Your adventure will take you deep into the 4000 hectares of the Domaine des 7 Vallées away from the crowd to bring you closer to Mother Nature.

Hiking & Nature tours
The Domaine des 7 Vallées is a real Oasis of tranquility and peace for you to relax and revitalize your spirit. Discover our stunning landscapes, forests, waterfalls and wildlife with our guides, in the comfort of our 4x4 pick-ups.
Watch and photograph hundreds of deers and wild boars in their natural habitats within the bushes and taste some exotic season fruits. Swimming in our gorgeous waterfall is a must! Refresh yourself at our various natural water points, away from the crowds and busy traffic!
All excursions are subject to reservations made in advance.
Opening hours:
The domain is open 7 days a week, from 9.30 a.m to 5.00 p.m.
The restaurant is open from 9.30 a.m. To 3.00 p.m. Open for dinner solely upon reservation for a minimum of 15 guests.
The Quad biking are operational from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm.
Hunting is proposed all year round. The reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance and are subject to availability. They start at 9.30 and last for 2 to 4 hours depending on the game.
The safaris and treks are of approx. 1 hour and are proposed between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm.
Horse rides are of approx. 1 hour and are proposed between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm. For groups exceeding 5 persons, it is necessary to book at least 72 hours in advance.
