This part of the island has, more than any part, kept a feeling of “old Mauritius”, whether it is the manner of the people, their traditions or even the unspoilt scenery.The Animals: We have the largest captive group of Aldabra tortoises in the world including 1000 Tortoises (Radiata from Madagascar & Aldabra from Seychelles). In addition to Tortoises we have approx. 2000 Nile Crocodiles as well as other animals such as monkeys, iguanas, bats, deer, geckos, eels, wild boars and moreChildren Corner: Our park "Jungle Adventure Playground", is a game area for children located next to free giant tortoises. une aire de jeux pour enfants, est situé à côté des tortues géantes en liberté. In the middle of trees and birds, children will enjoy playing safely...La Vanille is proud to present its latest addition – ‘100 million years under the sea’. This is a world class exhibit featuring hundreds of ammonite fossils from Madagascar – the result of years of collecting by Owen Griffiths .There is also a “Jungle Adventure Playground”, which is an area offering fun attractions and activities, especially designed for children.

Inside the park you will find the recommended Hungry Crocodile Restaurant. Built among the tree-tops the restaurant offers you a choice of local Mauritian food and international dishes, and also several dishes made with crocodile, which are definitely worth a try – you will be pleasantly surprised. Snacks and various drinks are also available.


Lunch at the Hungry Crocodile Restaurant

The Hungry Crocodile restaurant welcomes you in luxuriant greenery and a range of exotic birds. A selection of dishes is made by the Chief for you to choose from and which consists of a starter, main course, dessert.


Opening Hours :

9:30 to 17:00 pm
The crocodiles feeding are done every Wednesday and Saturday at 11h30.

Price per child (ages 2-12): 45 USD
Price per baby (ages 0-2): Free of charge
